Founder
Smriti Somasundaram is a high school senior from Olympia High School. She started DOT4Kids as a way to guide students in her community with new coding resources as a peer example. Other than volunteering, Smriti is the State President for the Washington business organization, FBLA, and organized conferences for over 4,000 members across the state. She is also a student researcher at the University of Washington-Seattle and a classical Bharatanatyam dancer.
Tumwater Ambassador
Rebecca Wall is a sophomore at BHHS. Taking a coding class when she was younger was what got her interested in coding and technology. She believes that as more technology is introduced into the world, it becomes more crucial that young people know how to use it, which is why she thinks learning how to code is so important. Other than that, Rebecca enjoys playing the bass in jazz band and orchestra.
Srishti Prabakar
Portland Ambassador
Srishti is a freshman at Jesuit High School in Portland. She got interested in technology when she attended the app camp for girls last summer. She believes introducing coding and technology to kids in the underrepresented areas will help lead them to STEM jobs in the future. Srishti is also a student volunteer of Shooting Star Foundations, which helps kids in need by raising money for them to get a college education. Apart from that, Srishti is also an active bharathanatyam dancer.
Anna Salmon
Olympia/Lacey Ambassador
Anna is a freshman at Steilacoom High School. As she grew up, she was familiar with technology as she played many online games, and over time became more involved in filming and editing videos as well as graphic design. Anna believes it is important to understand technology as it is advancing every day and becoming more and more important in people’s lives. Anna has taken classes in robotics, video productions, and keyboarding and has participated in several technology-based workshops with Dot4Kids, Girl Scouts, and Expand Your Horizons. Besides technology, Anna loves animals and is interested in science.
